Decommissioning Support Shell Inde (2011)
Bluestream ROV B.V. and Bluestream Rope Access B.V. have safely completed her support operations for Seaway Heavy Lifting Engineering B.V. at the Shell Inde decommissioning project. The Shell Indefatigable field (“Inde”) is owned by Shell (50%) and Exxon Mobil (50%) and is operated by Shell. The field is located in blocks 49/19 and 49/24 of the United Kingdom Continental Shelf. The six platforms: Juliet P (JP), Juliet D (JD), Kilo (K), Lima (L), Mike (M) and November (N) are located in a water depth of approx. 30 metres. The Inde field officially ceased production on 1st January 2006. The offshore removal is executed by Seaway Heavy Lifting Engineering B.V. using the HLV Stanislav Yudin. Bluestream provided both ROV services and Rope Access services to assist in the decommissioning of the platforms.
The ROV scope entailed:
- Pre-installation survey at the Jacket locations
- Assistance during internal pile cutting operations (abrasive)
- ROV assistance during external cutting of conductors
- Guidance of a cutting frame into position around the conductor
- ROV assistance during airlifting operations around jacket legs
- ROV assistance during pile cutting operations
- ROV assistance during jacket lift-off from the seabed
- Post –Installation survey at the Jacket location
- Removal of debris
The Rope Access Scope of work consisted of:
- Provision of Rope Access personnel and equipment;
- Installation of stoppers and lift points on conductors at jacket spider deck elevations;
- Installation of scaffolding starters in pre-installed guides at deck legs;
- Removal of had railings at jacket spider deck elevations.
