Drill Support Noble Byron Welliver (2011)

Following the contract award by Chevron Transportation B.V. for the riser and spool piece installation on the A-12 and B-13 locations, Bluestream ROV B.V. was awarded the contract by Chevron Transportation B.V. for ROV services onboard the Noble Byron Welliver.

Chevron has stared to drill the first well on the P2 block since the acquisition, in the fourth quarter of 2011. The P2-10 well will be drilled by the 'Noble Byron Welliver' jack up drilling rig. The P2-10 appraisal well targets an existing gas discovery on the P2 block and one of the main objectives is to evaluate commercial hydrocarbon flow rates from an extended reach horizontal well within the Rotliegendes sandstone reservoir. The well program is expected to take up to 100 days duration.

The ROV workscope comprised the following activities:

  • Perform seabed survey prior to spudding well and upon well suspension / abandonment.
  • Assist in open hole drilling operations (drilling and conductors)
  • Routine observation during equipment landing or latching operations
  • Cut guidelines, cut tubulars, monitor slope indicators on wellhead and riser, etc., etc.
  • Observe cement returns
  • Perform periodic leg and spud can inspection
  • Conductor connector and riser inspection
  • Site survey for final clearance certificate
