Peter; Foreman (Rope Access)

“Hello I’m Peter, and I have enjoyed working as the Workshop Foreman (Rope Access) with Bluestream since 2002.

We mainly operate in the offshore industry; a demanding environment where the safety and quality standards are of the highest order. At Bluestream we also work with the highest safety and quality standards in equipment as well as personnel. Rope Access work falls under the procedures and guidelines of the International Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA). That is the sole global trade association in the work-at-height sector and has member companies on each continent.

At Bluestream, I prepare all the rope access equipment before it’s sent out to a project. Buying, pre-use checks, (re)certifications, maintenance and (de)mobilisations are all part of my job. On every project I work closely with project managers, engineers, rope access supervisors and technicians so that a project can be done in a safe, fast, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Working for Bluestream is great. I really like the fact that my work is varied and that I meet a lot of people. We work with the best equipment available and are all very disciplined yet there is a nice, almost ‘family-like’, atmosphere. We are all skilled craftsmen and attend courses on a regular basis to keep our skills up-to-date. What I also enjoy at Bluestream is that there are a lot of nice activities organised for the personnel such as sailing, skiing and team-building exercises. So all in all I’m very happy at Bluestream and look forward to the future because I’m sure there are a lot of good things still to come!”
