Sylwin Alpha baseframe Installation

Sylwin Alpha baseframe Installation

Seaway Heavy Lifting, one of our key clients at Bluestream Offshore, has successfully completed the challenging project of transportation and installation of the Sylwin Alpha base-frame.

The heavyweight jacket, with a total weight of over 7000 tons, had to be installed in the shallow waters, high current and low visibility environment of the German bight. These demanding conditions required an innovative approach in order to achieve the project goals.

Bluestream utilised three Seaeye Cougar XT systems on board the DP III Heavy Lift vessel Oleg Strashnov in order to provide an optimal service. For the execution of the project the ROV requirements included heavy installation tasks such as cutting, torqueing and dredging. The clever and unique combination of the light work class Cougar XT vehicles equipped with heavy tooling provided the client with a successful and cost-effective solution.

Bluestream has provided Seaway Heavy Lifting with ROV services for several years on both of their heavy lifting vessels; the Stanislav Yudin and the Oleg Strashnov.
