Peter; Foreman (Rope Access)

Peter S.

Senior Technician (RA)

I’ve had the pleasure of working as the Workshop Foreman for the rope access department at Bluestream since 2002. We mainly operate in the offshore sector, which is a demanding environment where safety and quality standards are super important – like those of the International Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), the global trade association in the work-at-height sector. At Bluestream, you see these safety and quality standards not only in our equipment but also in our teams.

I prepare all the rope access equipment before it’s sent out to a project. Buying, pre-use checks, certifications, maintenance and (de)mobilisations are all part of my job. I work closely with project managers, engineers, rope access supervisors and technicians to make sure every project is carried out in a safe, fast, efficient and cost-effective way.

Working at Bluestream is great – my role is varied and I meet lots of people. We work with the best equipment available and are all very disciplined, but there’s also a friendly, almost family, atmosphere. We’re all skilled craftsmen and attend courses on a regular basis to keep our skills up-to-date. There are also lots of fun activities organised for employees – like sailing, skiing and team-building exercises. So all in all I’m looking forward to the future at Bluestream because I’m sure there are lots of good things still to come!
